Built for you
For the mum who wonders if her grocery bill is insane or normal.
And for the food lover who wants her grocery scope creep in check, but doesn't vibe with the budget tips.
No $10 mealsNo Meat Free MondaysNo "only shop at Aldi"
Just your money, spent on food you love.
Keep the fancy cheese. Let's find the rest.
Sound familiar?
  • You've switched to home brand
  • You've cut back on meat
  • You've thinned dinner out with so many lentils you're turning into one
And your grocery bill is still enormous.
Everyone knows groceries are expensive. But most of us keep pulling the same lever, buying cheaper, and figure we've tried everything.
grocery scope creep
/ grow·suh·ree skohp kreep / noun
When your well-intentioned grocery budget gets left behind, like the reusable bags in the boot of the car.
I've got it too. I'm hunting for $50 a week in my own house right now.
The tip of the iceberg
Buying cheap is one lever.
It might not be your biggest one. Money leaks out in five places, and most of them are under the water.
The tip
  • Switch to home brand
  • Buy less meat
  • Shop at the cheapest supermarket
  • Chase the yellow tickets
  • Add more lentils
Hand-drawn iceberg: a small peak above the waterline and a much bigger mass below
Below the water
  • 1. Before you shop
  • 2. While you shop
  • 3. What you choose to buy
  • 4. Once it gets home
  • 5. Whether it actually gets eaten
Now look in the bin
Aussie homes throw out 1 in 5 bags of groceries. That's ~$2,500 wasted every year.
So it doesn't matter how cheaply you buy it if it never gets eaten.
That's money you could keep without changing your shopping habits, or moving to Aldi.

The math
It pays for itself.
The workshop is $47. Find $10 a week and it's paid off in five weeks. Everything after that is yours.

Will this mean more work?
That's your call. For every leak on your receipt, I'll show you the options, what each one saves and what it asks of you. Then you choose.
Buy less
Same thing, smaller amount. No extra time.
Swap it
A different product or cut that does the same job.
Go seasonal
What's abundant and cheap this week.
Make it
More time, bigger saving. Only if it suits you.
Skip it
The thing that keeps ending up in the bin.
From my house
My husband once spent $40 on muesli bars in a week. Three packs. That's about a sixth of my weekly grocery budget. The options: buy fewer, swap to a cheaper one, or make a tray the easy way.
Sourdough's the same. We can easily spend $40 a week on it, so some weeks I buy it and some weeks I make it.
Group chat: a friend says she spent $20 on two pineapples and some blueberries. Lou replies that for that money you could have bought 10kg of bananas, a tray of mangoes, 6kg of white nectarines and two whole chickens.
From my group chat. Same $20, very different shop.
What you walk out with
One page. Plan sorted.
Stick it on the fridge. Open it before your next shop and you'll know exactly what to do.
MY GROCERY GAME PLANExample

The good coffee. Friday cheese and crackers. Proper butter.
Changing next shop

2. Muesli bars: one pack, bake a tray Sunday. (make it, 20 min)
3. Yoghurt pouches nobody finishes. (skip it)

From my kitchen
This is how I shop.
Market hauls, cheaper cuts cooked well, leftovers that turn into tomorrow's lunch.

Message: Halfway through the grocery bill and it's incredible. This has genuinely changed my life. Thank you.Message: Weekly staple in our house after learning this in your class. I always do a soup off the back of it and use the leftover chicken for a curry.

Why trust me
I've done this at scale.
For 7 years I cooked commercially, feeding hundreds of people a week. Sticking to a food budget was make or break.
In catering, you cost a dish before you cook it. You know what a kilo of chicken thighs gives you once it's trimmed, and what happens to your margin when a bag of rocket turns to slime. Nothing gets bought for one dish only. It taught me that knowledge is power. Paying attention while you shop lets you flow, save your cash and put it towards the ingredients that matter. For me, that's sheep's cheese haloumi. Splurge where you want, rein in where it doesn't matter. And a little DIY goes a long way.
Now I'm a mum of two, using the same thinking at home. Mostly I shop at the markets, buy what's good and abundant, then work out dinner.

Still deciding?
Here's the honest answer.
Will I find $50?
Maybe. Maybe more, maybe less. Every household's different, so I won't promise a number. I'll promise I'll look hard. And if we can't find a worthwhile shift, I keep working with you until we do.
Will you make me shop at Aldi?
Nope. Shop wherever you like. Where you shop is one lever, and we'll look at whether it's worth pulling for you.
I don't have time to cook more.
Then pick the options that don't need it. I'll show you exactly which ones those are.
I shop at markets. I don't get receipts.
Same. Online order history, a bank statement or a photo of the haul with what you paid all work.
Will anyone else see my receipts?
Never. They stay between you and me.
Can't make it live?
Every ticket holder gets the replay, with six months to watch it. Your receipt inspection still happens either way.
Which receipts should I bring?
The real ones. Big shop, top up shop, the "I only went in for milk" shop. Don't tidy them up first.
