Day 2 is all about breakfast. The most important meal of the day that lots of us feel the need to skip. The thing is, the more you skip breakfast the more you will think you don’t need breakfast which is a bit of a trap. Your body will learn to operate without it, but secretly your body has slowed down your metabolism putting it in ‘storage mode’. This means when you do eat, it will store as much of it as possible (as fat) so it has supplies for its next spout of starvation. Needless to say, this is not good. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

  1. It kickstarts your metabolism

  2. Nourishes your body with important vitamins, minerals and protein needed for optimum function – fuelling you so you can operate at your best

  3. Dramatically improves concentration

DAY 2 to 7 easy ways to detox without having to detox – GREEN SMOOTHIE

The number 1 reason people start to skip breakfast is because they don’t have enough time. My suggestion is to put your blender to use and try a smoothie. If time really is an issue for you, pour into a water bottle or glass jar to drink on your way to work.

Why green is good

Leafy greens are so important in a balanced diet. The more the merrier and you really cannot get enough. A smoothie is a great way to incorporate your greens as they have a neutral flavour and won’t overpower your smoothie. Greens are alkalising and great for assisting to detox the body. When we indulge at Christmas on Aunty Pam’s Christmas cake, that extra sugar is turning our bodies acidic. The acidity in our body is a breading ground for inflammation and bacteria. Our antioxidant levels decrease and as soon as we’re a little bit run down, we get sick. Yes, eating your greens will keep you healthy and fight off the flu too.

To make

  • Add 1 cup of water/almond milk/rice milk/coconut water to blender

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

  • 2 tbsp oatsSoak chia and oats in water for 10 minutes
